About Us & What People Say

Like his grandfather a horticulturalist, Ed Seifert has his roots in landscape gardening as well. He began working in the early 70's as a laborer for Muehlenbeck Landscape, a firm whose clientele read as a who's who in Chicago social circles. During this time he obtained a degree in Horticulture. He served as a construction foreman for The Brickman Group, pioneers in design build landscape. He went onto work for Allen Keesen Landscape now part of Brickman, where he was promoted to construction superintendent for the Denver operations. He was offered a position as a production manager for a large Illinios landscape contracting firm LCI, where he worked on a national level with developers and landscape architects.

In 1994 Ed along with his wife Barbara, founded the design build firm of E.A.Seifert Landscape, Inc. in Longmont, CO. Barb also holds a degree in Horticulture, with a career in the floral and green industry that spans decades.

Today, we pride ourselves on word of mouth growth with core beliefs in the “do onto others” philosophy while working with honesty, respect and integrity. Artistry coupled with fine craftsmanship is recognized not only by our clients but respected by industry peers. Our work is diverse, from intimate gardens to estates. Past experience has given us the vision to design landscapes that are esthetically pleasing, constructible and functional. Armed with the knowledge and resources we make the usual, unusual and a reality while being maintenance minded and mindful of a budget. Upon requests we are happy to share personally, the quality of work and years of satisfied references.

On a personal note:
Our passion is to design and install lasting landscapes that compliment the environment and clients’ lifestyle. We work for you! Your trust is what we strive for at Seifert, it is not taken lightly. Therefore, we welcome the opportunity, to carry it with honor and never take it for granted. It is how we measure our success. Allow us to sculpt your garden!

Testimonials

Ed and Barb were a pleasure to work with. The results were beyond our expectations.  When one of our neighbors saw our backyard, he remarked that he felt like he was at a resort in Aspen!

Ed and Barb originally landscaped our house in 1994 and again when we put in a pool 8 years ago. The resulting mature landscape with pool and pond is absolutely gorgeous and all who come over say the yard is a private oasis.  Ed and Barb are very professional and a wonderful couple to work with. Many compliments come our way on the metal birdbath and flowerpot in our front yard which were designed by them.  We are trying to determine another project we can use them for!

Dear Barbara and Ed:

Our first residence in Lafayette, Colorado, a residence for which you had done the landscaping for a previous owner. It was the beautiful landscaping, that completely sold us on the property, and throughout the years we owned and lived in that house, we recieved numerous compliments from others about the artistry that had gone in on the landscaping.

It was therefore natural that when we decided to build our new home that we contacted the two of you and requested your services in designing and implementing the landscaping for the new property. Throughout the entire project, you consulted and worked with us at every necessary opportunity and produced what we and many others consider a masterpiece of landscaping.

We are indeed very fortunate to have been able to retain you for this most important task and do not hesitate to recommened your artistic skills and efforts to others.

"In the best traditions of landscape design set by the famous English landscape designer, Lancelot "Capability" Brown, the Seiferts have the same ability to see living art in a plain and barren landscape. Ed & Barb transformed our flat, plain lot into several areas of delightfully complementing garden art. Each time we had an area of the lot that needed work, it turned into something glorious and beautiful at all times of the year. Our front garden is the envy of our friends and neighbors. It has been described as a 'secret garden', complete with an original rock fountain and our very own miniature Flatirons. Japanese iris compete with Maltese Crosses, day lilies crowd out luxurious red shrub roses, with the sound of birds bathing in the falling water in the background."
"Since the Seiferts' landscape designs are works of art, it is no wonder that they are complemented by the sculptures designed by the same team."
